Parenting

Are you considering being a parent?

Considering Parenting?

You think you may be pregnant and you are wondering if parenting is the right decision for you. Being a parent can be exciting, challenging and even scary at times. Maybe you’ve had a baby before and know what to expect, but each pregnancy is different.

Our trained staff will take the time to talk with you in a private setting about your parenting concerns, how we can help and what FREE resources are available to you in our community. We’ve talked to thousands of clients who are worried about things like the following:

  • “My husband/boyfriend/girlfriend doesn’t want the baby, but I do.”
  • “I can’t tell my family.”
  • “How will I finish school?”
  • “Where will I live?”
  • “I need a job.”
  • “I don’t have insurance.”
  • “I don’t have enough money for me let alone a baby.”
  • “I’m too young.”
  • “My parents won’t help me.”
  • “I’ll lose my boyfriend.”
  • “How will I provide for my baby?”

These are just a few of the many questions surrounding the thought of continuing a pregnancy and having a child. If you suspect that you might be pregnant, or even if you’ve had a positive pregnancy test, you may be needing answers and feeling pressure to make a decision quickly. The Pregnancy Resource Centers of Central Oregon is here to support you throughout the decision making process. Your information will be kept confidential.

What should you do first?

Confirm whether you are indeed pregnant with a medical grade pregnancy test.  There is no cost to you whether the test is positive or negative, and we can answer any questions you may have.  If you know you are pregnant and would like to have an ultrasound, we can do that too.
