Our number one goal is to help you make the right choice for you, and to provide you with a support system of women, many of whom have been in similar situations, who will share honest and accurate information. Although our area of expertise is in unplanned and crisis pregnancies, we are here for any woman who is pregnant or has a child under two years old.
Our History: For years there was a need in Central Oregon for a pregnancy resource center to offer practical help and support to women facing unplanned pregnancies. In 1995, after five years of planning, we opened our first center in Madras. Shortly after, we opened centers in Bend, Prineville, and Redmond. We were first know as Crisis Pregnancy Center, but in time changed our name to Pregnancy Resource Center, to better describe the wide variety of services we offer. Currently we operate three centers: Bend, Redmond, Prineville. We are a faith based organization and are not affiliated with religious entities and offer services freely to all who enter our doors.
Volunteer Supported: PRCCO is a volunteer driven organization. Each of our centers has a part time nurse and center manager that is supported by a full time staff of volunteers. Every person who volunteers at PRCCO receives specialized and ongoing training to ensure their success as they serve 4 hours each week in one of our centers.
We offer personal, practical, emotional and spiritual support that, thousands of times a year, has helped many women who are facing a possible pregnancy. We provide services to EVERY person who comes through our doors and serve every man, woman or child without regard to finances, religion or socio-economic status. Our vision is to see lives transformed and we accomplish that through one on one personal relationship with our clients.
Our Clients: What kind of woman walks through the door of a pregnancy Resource Center? She might be homeless or live with her parents, she may be working or looking for work, happy to be pregnant or still unsure, 14 years old or 45, fearful, joyful, nervous, desperate or crying, we see them all. Her pregnancy may be planned or unplanned. Whether she visits our center in Bend, Redmond, or Prineville she will receive a warm, friendly welcome without being judged. She will be listened to with compassion and she will receive truthful, accurate and complete information that will empower her to make the best possible decision. Without regard to her pregnancy decision, we are here to support and encourage her as she enters the next phase of her life. We do not refer for abortion or support it as a healthy choice, but have a healing program for those who have experienced it.
Our Services: She will have access to our free services such as medical grade pregnancy tests, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, and resources for medical and community services. She can receive information on sexually transmitted infections, food, clothing and supplies for her and her baby, and a consultation pertaining to all of her pregnancy test options. For the men who are looking for direction during this season of their lives, we have a Fatherhood Coaching program that provides a safe place to meet with a male Coach to ask questions and prepare for the changes that come with being a father.
Our Finances: PRCCO is financed exclusively through donations. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) and are under the governance of a Board of Directors. We do not receive money from the state or federal government but are 100% financed through the monthly pledges of our regular donors and the special gifts we receive from businesses or others in the community.
Our Commitment to you: At PRC, we care about you and commit to the following:
All of our staff and volunteers receive proper training to uphold these standards.
