You could experience physical and/or emotional side effects.
Many women are curious how they might feel physically and emotionally after an abortion. Abortion is an elective procedure that either involves surgery or several rounds of very strong medication. When putting your body through that you can experience mild or severe after effects, both physical and emotional. Physical after effects usually occur within a few hours or days. Some are anticipated as a result of having an abortion and include abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, spotting and bleeding. More serious side effects occur as a result of a complication during the abortion and may include heavy or persistent bleeding, infection or sepsis, damage to the cervix, scarring of the uterine lining, perforation of uterus, damage to other organs and death.
